F.A. Cup and Premier League predictions

Last week, I predicted six correct results with one perfect score. We are back to the F.A. Cup this weekend as the quarter finals get under way. There are also six Premier League matches this weekend with important games for relegation threatened clubs.

Everton vs Wigan (Sat 1245)

Wigan have great spirit but after a 4-0 defeat to Liverpool, how will effect the team. Everton are chasing a champions League spot and continued that hope with a good win over Reading last week. Wigan have had a great cup run but with relegation fears I think Everton will book a semi final berth.

Man City vs Barnsley (Sat 1730)

The F.A. cup is City’s only chance of silverware this season so expect Roberto Mancini to name a full strength line-up. Barnsley are facing relegation fears to League One are a no match against City’s quality. It will be a comfortable win for City.

Millwall vs Blackburn (Sun1400)

In this all Championship tie, a place at Wembley is one one match away for one of these sides. Millwall started the season well as Blackburn struggled. However, just months later the tide has turned. Blackburn recorded a shock 1-0 win at Arsenal to be here and I expect the run will continue.

Man United vs Chelsea (Sun 1630)

After a controversial Champions League exit, Fergie’s men will be gunning for victory. Wayne Rooney will start and has a point to prove. Chelsea also lost in Europe this week but I can’t see the side winning at Old Trafford.
