Chelsea moved closer to claiming their first Premier League title in five years as Jose Mourinho’s side grinded out a 1-0 win over Man United to open up a ten point gap at the top of the table.
The only goal of the game came on 38 minutes when Oscar’s back-heel set up Eden Hazard through on goal who cooly slotted past David DeGea.
Man United were the better side with 70% of possession but Chelsea were happy enough to ‘park the bus’ as Man United could not find an equaliser as their six game winning streak came to an end.
With Arsenal not in action, they now sit ten clear and can wrap up the title by winning their next two games, first a trip to Arsenal before meeting Leicester on Wednesday week.
Speaking of Leicester, the great escape continues as the Foxes moved off the bottom of the table with a third consecutive victory with a 2-0 win over Swansea.
Leonardo Ulloa got the Midlands club off to a flyer on 15 minutes and Andy King doubled the lead on 89 minutes but Nigel Pearson’s side never looked like losing this one and they continue to fight for survival.
Burnley now prop up the table after they fell to a 1-0 defeat to revitalised Everton with Kevin Mirallas strike just before the half-hour mark condemning the Clarets to bottom spot.
Elsewhere Man City got back to winning ways with a 2-0 win over West Ham to tighten their grip on a top four finish, while Tony Pulis won on his return to Selhurst Park as West Brom bagged a 2-0 win at Crystal Palace.
