Chelsea have completed the signing of Stoke City goalkeeper Asmir Begovic for a fee around the region of £8m to act as cover for number one choice Thibaut Courtois.
Since Petr Cech’s departure to Arsenal, Jose Mourinho has been on the look out for some back-up and has wrapped up a deal for the Bosnia-Herzegovina international to join the Premier League champions on a four-year deal.

Asmir Begovic also played for Yeovil Town and Macclesfield

Begovic – who will wear the number one jersey – told chelseafc.com that he is delighted at making the move to Chelsea.
‘I am very happy to be joining Chelsea FC,” said the Bosnian.
“After speaking at length to the manager, I feel like I can develop here and be an important part of this team. I am looking forward to meeting up with the team on Wednesday for the pre-season tour.”
The move comes just four days after Shay Given made the move to Stoke from Aston Villa as the Republic of Ireland goalkeeper and Jack Butland will now fight it out to become Mark Hughes’ number one.
The 28-year-old made over 170 appearances for Stoke and even has a goal to his name, scoring from inside his own penalty area against Southampton in November 2013.
