After months of being screwed by the Authority, Roman Reigns finally gets Triple H one-on-one in the main event of WrestleMania as Reigns looks to reclaim the WWE Championship.
This all started back at Survivor Series when Roman Reigns defeated Dean Ambrose in the final of a tournament to crown a new WWE Champion, following Seth Rollins being forced to vacate the gold due to a serious knee injury.
After his victory, Triple H came to out to congratulate Reigns but he responded by hitting The Game with a spear and moments later, Reigns had lost the title after Sheamus successfully cashed in his Money in the Bank briefcase.
Reigns strived to get the gold back around his waist but thanks to interference from the League of Nations, Sheamus defeated Reigns at TLC: Tables, Ladders and Chairs in December.
Reigns decided he had enough and launched a vicious attack on Triple H following his loss and the next night on Raw, Reigns overcame Sheamus to win back the WWE Championship.
However, Stephanie McMahon brought her dad Mr McMahon into the picture to stack the odds against the champion who was forced to defend his title in the 30 man Royal Rumble match.
The odds proved too much for the champion to overcome as a returning Triple H eliminated Reigns at the Royal Rumble to become a 14-time WWE World Heavyweight Champion.
A month later at FastLane, Reigns set his sights on Triple H and the WWE Championship after overcoming Brock Lesnar and Dean Ambrose in a Triple Threat No. 1 Contenders match.
The next night on Raw, Triple H showed no mercy on the No.1 Contender as he dumped the suit for a street attire and viciously attacked Reigns, handing him a “broken nose.”
After Triple H dealt with Dean Ambrose sticking his nose in his business at Roadblock, Reigns returned to attack Triple H busting open The Game, just moments after the champion overcame a tough match with Dolph Ziggler.
The following week on Raw, Stephanie McMahon told Roman Reigns that Triple H was not at the arena as Reigns claimed he is now in control and that the champion was running scared.
However, Reigns would get his hands on Triple H that night as he pulled the COO from the car in the parking lot launching a vicious attack until The Game managed to get a cheap shot and make a speedy getaway.
The Big Dog would take more of his anger out on Bubba Ray Dudley in the main event on Smackdown three days later when he brutalised not just Bubba, but also took some out on D’Von as he aims for revenge on The Game.
Another run-in with the Dudleys Boys the next week on Raw would be nothing more than a trap as Triple H blind sided his WrestleMania opponent with a 3-on-1 assault, but Reigns get his hands on The Game before the night was out.
Just six days before their WrestleMania showdown, Triple H and Reigns came to blows and it took the entire locker room to keep these two apart. Reigns would take a leap of fate taking out several superstars, but the champion escaped barely unscathed.
Where do I start with this one? This match has been months in the making but Triple H vs Roman Reigns has failed to deliver in the weeks leading up to the showcase of immortals.
Back in December, it seemed Reigns had finally won over the fans when he defeated Sheamus to win the WWE Championship but in recent weeks, the crowd have once again soured towards the No.1 Contender.
I think the possibility of Reigns defeating Triple H to become a three-time WWE Champion is highly likely but WWE need to be careful on how to book this or else a potential crowd of 100,000 will boo him out of the building.
I don’t know how they are going to work this out but they need to do something big. A predictable outcome would be for The Rock to help his cousin overcome The Game, but that won’t help Reigns cause.
I am sure WWE can see that fans are rejecting Reigns and they best way to help Reigns is a heel turn. I am certain the Roman Empire will triumph at WrestleMania but the big question is: how will he win?
Maybe Mr. McMahon will screw Triple H and align with Reigns like he did with Stone Cold at WrestleMania X-SEVEN or could The Game lie down for Reigns and make him the Authority’s Champion?
Winner: Roman Reigns
