Jinder Mahal aims to upset Randy Orton to win his first WWE Championship

Jinder Mahal looks to pull off one of the biggest upsets in WWE history, as he looks to defeat Randy Orton and become WWE Champion for the first time at Backlash.

Mahal stunned the WWE Universe last month when he overcame Sami Zayn, Erick Rowan, Dolph Ziggler, Mojo Rawley and Luke Harper in a Six-pack challenge with the help from the Singh brothers, as the new faction set their sights on taking over Smackdown.

The trio ambushed Randy Orton and stole the WWE Championship a week later, before the No.1 Contender turned up to Payback to cost the Viper in his House of Horrors match against Bray Wyatt.

Mahal continued to build his momentum by pinning Orton for the win in six-man tag team action two weeks ago, but I cannot see him winning the gold. I am not expecting this to be a great match, in which Orton should leave Backlash still the WWE Champion.

Prediction: Randy Orton

Kevin Owens puts the United States title on the line against AJ Styles

AJ Styles aims to take down the “Face of America” Kevin Owens and bring the United States Championship back to where it belongs, in a much-anticipated clash at Backlash.

Styles earned a shot at Owen’s United States Championship by defeating Baron Corbin and Sami Zayn in a Triple Threat match, but KO would show Styles exactly what he will be in for by taking him out with the pop-up powerbomb after Styles win over Corbin two weeks later.

Owens would be stunned by Chris Jericho at Payback as Y2J won the United States Championship, but KO would win the title back just two days later on Smackdown and viciously attacked his former friend after the match.

Styles will be out to win the US Title for the first time after Owens cost him his match against Jinder Mahal last week, but I think Owens will manage to find a way to retain. This should be a great match, but it could end on a DQ or countout to keep the fued going.

Prediction: Kevin Owens
